N. Korea preparing Musudan missile launch

North Korea appears to be preparing to launch a Musudan intermediate-range ballistic missile from the east coast, a South Korean government source said Tuesday, with Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) confirming that the reclusive country could move forward with another test fire.

“We are closely watching after detecting signs that the North is moving toward the launch of what appears to be a Musudan missile,” the source said on the condition of anonymity.

Currently, the North appears ready to deploy a mobile launcher vehicle loaded with the missile to its east coast, according to the source.

The JCS later said, “Our military is closely tracking related signs with the possibility of the North’s additional missile launch being a consideration.”
