China’s two biggest missile manufacturers – the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) – have reported strong growth in 2018.
In a statement issued recently, CASC said its revenues in 2018 increased year on year by 8.6% to CNY251.3 billion (USD36.9 billion) while its total profit increased by 5.6% to CNY20.73 billion.
CASIC said in a separate statement that its revenues increased by 9.5% year on year, total profit increased by 11.2%, and labour productivity increased by 14.4%. CASIC did not disclose monetary figures, although in 2017 the group’s recorded revenues were CNY231.6 billion and its profit was CNY10.8 billion.
