RIYADH: Houthi militia launched a missile toward Jizan province on Wednesday at 9.31pm local time, according to an Arab coalition statement. Saudi Arabian air defense units shot down the missile in the skies above the province, the Kingdom’s official TV channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.
The news was confirmed by Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, who also reported there were no casualties or damage in the incident.
Al-Maliki added that this “hostile and indiscriminate” action by the Houthis proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthis is in clear and explicit defiance of the violation of UN resolution 2216 and resolution 223, in a bid to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and the threat of regional and international security.
