Foreign hackers probing America’s missile defense supply chain

Foreign hackers are probing for secrets about America’s missile defenses in the computers that support the long supply chain of parts and services needed to field the system, federal contractors were told in Huntsville this week.

Small businesses were briefed on the growing threat and new requirements for keeping data secure at a conference sponsored by Small Business Programs Office of the federal Missile Defense Agency.

The MDA’s mission is to protect the American homeland, American troops in the field and key foreign allies from missile attacks, and it has a major center employing 5,000 workers in Huntsville. Small Business Programs Office Director Lee Rosenberg said the office holds conferences like this for contractors and subcontractors.
