Lockheed awarded $29.5 million contract to make Patriot missiles for Qatar

Lockheed Martin, a major defense contractor, has been awarded a $29.5 million contract modification to make Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missiles to Qatar.

It’s in support of Qatar’s order for the the missiles, placed in 2012. The modification also allows for a Qatari flight test.

The Department of Defense did not identify where the work will be done, but the Army Contracting Command on Redstone Arsenal was the contracting activity.

The Patriot is an advanced air and missile defense system. The US and ten other countries operate it.
