Integrating America’s air, space and missile defenses is the theme of this August’s Space & Missile Defense Symposium in Huntsville. The annual symposium, which brings thousands of defense professionals to downtown Huntsville each summer, will run from Aug. 10-13.

“Key leaders, experts and officials at the forefront of space and missile defense” will make the symposium more popular than ever with government and industry professionals, chairman and retired Lt. Gen. Bill Phillips said.

Adding to the event this year will be stations where attendees, including the public (if registered), can play “Wargames” software the U.S. military uses in training exercises. Military and defense workers can register free and attend all sessions of the conference. The public can also register free, but will only have access to the exhibit hall.

The symposium at the Von Braun Center features a keynote address Aug. 12 by Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Frank Kendall III. A dozen other confirmed speakers will cover space and missile defense issues including technology, policy and partner nation missile defense.

Among those scheduled speakers are the commanders of the U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Army Material Command and U.S. Army Space and Missile Command along with numerous top civilian leaders.

Also this year, the symposium and American Freedom Foundation will again host hiring and training events for U.S. veterans. “Warriors to the Workforce” will be Wednesday Aug. 12.

Full details on the symposium including registration information are available here. Tickets for the keynote dinner are $50 each, and tables of eight are $400. The dinner is sponsored by Davidson Technologies and will be preceded by a VIP reception and “Salute to the Warfighter” event.
